Regular eye examinations are crucial for maintaining the health of your vision.
 
An adult without a vision problem should get comprehensive eye exams every two years whether or not he or she has any visual symptoms. Why? 

Many eye diseases and conditions start without any noticeable symptoms, meaning an eye exam is the best way to catch them before they become a serious issue.

These sometimes "silent" problems that can affect your vision include:

WHAT TO EXPECT DURING AN ADULT EYE EXAM

Efficient, not rushed 
We know that our patients lead busy lives, yet we often hear that when it comes to healthcare, patients often feel rushed with little time to speak with their doctor.

We want you to ask questions
At Focal Pointe, Dr. Lyons wants you to fully understand your eye health and will take the time to review your results, answer your questions and provide you with advice you can use between visits.  

A complete eye exam, not just vision correction
The optometrist will determine which tests to include in your eye exam based on your health and family history, whether you are currently experiencing any vision difficulties and also based upon test results.  Most tests only take a few moments to perform.  

Most eye exams are completed in under an hour
A comprehensive eye exam may take up to a full hour to fully evaluate your vision, the health of your eyes and allow time for you to ask questions.  

Technology improves diagnosis
We only dilate patients' eyes when it is medically necessary.  We invest in the most advanced testing technology which helps provide more insightful diagnosis and, in many cases, minimizes the need for dilation.
