MEET OUR WONDERFUL FOCAL POINTE TEAM 

Liz has assisted Focal Pointe Eye Care with financial and business tasks behind the scenes since its founding in September of 2008, and is gradually taking a more active managerial role in the office as her children start school.

Liz takes tremendous joy in watching Focal Pointe patients achieve their best vision because she is visually impaired herself. She has Stargardt disease, also known as juvenile macular degeneration, a genetic eye disorder that causes progressive vision loss. After being misdiagnosed for eight years, her condition was not correctly identified until she was a sophomore in college. She enjoys working in an environment where she can use her own loss to assist others.

Liz graduated from St. Ursula Academy with honors in 1997 and went on to graduate from Xavier University’s Williams college of business summa cum laude in 2001. In addition to her work at Focal Pointe, she is the owner, and instructor of the Pilates Studio of Glendale, which she founded in 2003. She claims to have married the “perfect” husband (Dr. Lyons), though we think she may be slightly biased. Her most cherished role is as mom to her son Diegan, born in 2008 and her daughter Eleanor, born in 2009.

Robin joined Focal Pointe in 2014 after working seven years as a technician and optician. Prior to her career in eye care, she worked as a pharmacy technician for seven years and a medical receptionist for six years.

Originally from Fr. Wayne, Indiana, Robin moved to Mason in 1994. She is married with three grown sons: Justin, Nathan, and Danny.

Robin enjoys I.U. basketball and college and pro football. She also loves spending time at the lakes in Northern Indiana where she grew up. Her favorite pastime is being with her family and friends.

Rachel joined Focal Pointe Eye Care in 2016.  She was born and raised in Cincinnati, OH (Ross, OH to be exact). She graduated Cum Laude from Miami University in 2010 with a Bachelor’s degree in Family Studies. She has 18 years of customer service experience,  12+ of those as a Licensed Optician. Rachel has a passion for helping others and enjoys experiencing the positive impact we provide helping patients with their visual needs.

When she isn’t working, Rachel enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, Nora and Archer, as well as her fur babies Rip and Agnes.

With her vast experience in eye care, Stephanie brings great knowledge to the team of opticians. She is passionate about helping patients look great and see better. She enjoys the challenge of making sure that every product dispensed meets the highest quality for our patients’ visual needs.

Stephanie’s career in eye care began in 1991 as an ophthalmic technician in a large multi-doctor practice located in Spokane, Washington. She made Cincinnati her home in 1999 and joined the Cincinnati Eye Institute. She became heavily involved in the Glaucoma and Cataract Clinics as her knowledge expanded. In 2006, she took an opportunity at Luxottica and became a Licensed Dispensing Optician. Stephanie loves new challenges and is so excited to be part of our team. She loves the caring and compassionate environment found at Focal Pointe Eye Care.

Stephanie has a son who makes her light up every time she speaks of him. Her creative side fuels her hobbies of interior design, gardening, and traveling. To unwind, she relaxes with classical music and her pets.

Kirsten found her calling for helping people in 2010 when she first started working in customer care.   In 2015, she began working in the optometry field where she developed a passion for helping people see their best and feel good about their eyewear.  

When she isn't working, she enjoys seeing new places, learning new things and supporting her two children in all their activities.  

Melissa is a family girl from a small town in Indiana, now living in West Chester. Joining the Focal Pointe opticians team in January of 2020, she brings her cheerful spirit into patient care. While not only using her optical knowledge of 8 years in educating patients on the importance of quality lenses, she inspires everyone to embrace their fashion through eyewear.

Melissa has a wonderful husband and chihuahua . When she is not working, she spends time with her family, and she follows a creative path with her love for event planning and cooking.

Dana has been a part of the Focal Pointe team since 2020. With a passion for helping others and for continual learning, she finds working between doctors and patients extremely rewarding. If she is not working with patients, you can find her taking photos around the office to share the happy, fun, and exciting moments on our social media pages  . 

Outside of work, Dana loves to indulge her creative side. She graduated from Kent State with a bachelor's degree in Theatre Production, focusing in Costume Design and Scenic Painting, and still fills her time with freelance design or crafting at home. She and her husband love watching movies, traveling as much as possible, and exploring local events. 

Michele moved to the Cincinnati area in January 2020 and began work at Focal Pointe in December.  She worked as a doctor's assistant at an optometry office in her home town in Wyoming before going to Utah State University.  There she received a B.S. in music therapy and then practiced as a board certified music therapist for five years.  After relocating to Ohio, Michele found her way back to her love of helping improve people's lives through eye care.  

When she is not at work, Michele enjoys spending time with family, hiking, 

and pursuing photography.

Shannon joined the Focal Pointe Eye Care team in 2021 and has been in the Eye Care Field for the past 9 years.  She worked as a Pharmacy Technician prior to starting her career in eye care.

When not working, Shannon enjoys spending time with her family, traveling and watching UC football. Go Bearcats!

Sara joined the Focal Pointe Eye Care team in 2021.  Sara has 20 years of customer service experience and looks forward to assisting our patients with all of their front desk needs.

When not at work, Sara loves spending time with her husband and daughter. She also enjoys cooking, crafting and taking vacations with her family.  

Jill started with Focal Pointe in September 2021 and has worked in the eye care field for the past 18 years.  

She was born and raised on the west side of Cincinnati.  She is a proud mom to one daughter.   

When she isn't working, she enjoys spending time with family, reading, attending concerts and traveling.

Amanda joined Focal Pointe Eye Care in 2021.  She was previously a dog groomer and has many years of experience in customer service.  She is excited to be a part of the team and is looking forward to assisting patients.

She enjoys nature, animals  and spending time with her family.

Madie joined the Focal Pointe Eye Care Team in November of 2021.  She has 2 years of prior optical experience.  Madie started in the field as a technician and working at the front desk.  She was quickly promoted to an apprentice optician and loves it! Madie is passionate about helping patients see and look their best!

Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband restoring their first house and playing with their Great Dane, Fang!

Yvonne joined the Focal Pointe Eye Care team in November of 2021.  She started working part time in the optical field in 2020 while attending college. Yvonne quickly realized she truly enjoys being an optician and the opportunity to help patients see clearly.

In her free time Yvonne likes to play video games, complete puzzles and spend time with her family.

Bahgat fell in love with the field of eye care when he was in medical school. He received extensive training and earned a degree in Ophthalmology in home country of Egypt.

After he moved to Ohio in 2002, Bahgat continued to pursue his passion for eye care and became an optician. His friendly personality and wealth of knowledge have made him a trusted optician for many patients and their families over the years.

Bahgat was thrilled to join the Focal Pointe eye care team in November 2022 because he wanted to continue providing high quality vision care using the latest technology. 

He's proud of his background and thankful for his family. When he's not helping patients, Bahgat enjoys chatting with his parents, connecting with his big family, traveling, playing soccer, riding his bike, and cooking authentic Egyptian food.

Kami is new to optometry and Cincinnati, and joined the Focal Pointe team in 2022. Previously, she worked as a laboratory assistant in Findlay, OH before relocating to be closer to family. 

She is currently pursuing her bachelors to become a Medical Laboratory Scientist. Her two favorite things about working at Focal Pointe are connecting with all of our patients, and learning about assistive technology for people with low vision. 

Outside of work, she enjoys going to the movies, visiting her local library, crocheting, and collecting vinyl records. She also likes to spend time with her cats, Alleyoop and Banyan."
