EMERGENCY SERVICES

WHAT SHOULD I DO IF I HAVE AN EYE EMERGENCY?

Dr. Lyons provides 24 hour emergency service to his patients, 7 days a week. If you are having an eye medical emergency during normal office hours, please call us immediately. 

If you are have a medical concern outside normal office hours, Dr. Lyons can be reached by dialing 513-779-3937 and pressing the number four (4) while listening to the message. Instructions are also reviewed on our general telephone message.
NOTE: 24-hour emergency service is available to established patients only. 

Please use this service for medical emergencies ONLY. Lost eyeglasses or running out of contact lenses do not constitute an ocular emergency. If you do not receive a call back after leaving a message within 1 hour, please attempt to page the doctor again.

Some Common Eye Emergencies

Angle Closure Glaucoma

Sudden, painful vision loss associated with foggy vision.

Conjunctivitis

AKA "pink eye", often highly contagious with redness and discharge. 

Corneal Abrasions

Highly painful corneal injury associated with trauma.  

Retinal Detachment

Painless vision decrease associated with new flashes and floaters. 

Subconjunctival Hemorrhage

A dramatic "red eye" that results from a broken blood vessel.
